Bartrums invest in c.10acres of land for development.
Discussions for the purchase of nearly ten acres of land on Eye Airfield commenced in 2021 but were put ‘on hold’ while we then bought and developed a smaller 3.7acre plot of land. This quickly became our ‘Warehouse One’ facility and was operational from 2023. In 2025 those discussions around the larger parcel of land resumed and we were delighted to add this to our portfolio in May 2026.
We have some genuinely exciting plans for development and will share them in due course. It’s likely the build will be in two phases with the first phase being an 85,000sqft warehouse positioned to the ‘back’ of Warehouse1 with a slightly smaller warehouse to follow in due course. Having the right banking partner, with a shared vision for the future of Bartrums has enabled the Bartrum family to unlock capital for inward investment in a way that will help grow the business and cement its prominent place with the Suffolk business landscape.
