The RTITB Vehicle Yardshunter course is designed to train people to manoeuvre and direct an articulated vehicle both forward and reverse in a straight line and to both sides. The course will protect workplaces by preventing injuries and fines caused by vehicle movements.
Candidates need to have a minimum of a category B on their driving licence.
Bartrums Training offer training for LGV Yard Shunter Drivers at customer premises.
Manoeuvring and Reversing on site is a major cause of workplace accidents and can lead to serious and sometimes fatal injuries/. Yard Shunter Drivers should be trained in safe working practices to minimise the risk of potentially costly accidents.
The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) requires employers to provide adequate training, instruction and supervision for all employees. Manoeuvring and reversing vehicles on site is a major cause of workplace collisions and can lead to serious or fatal injuries. Yard Shunter Drivers should be trained in safe practices to minimise the risk of collisions.
The Yard Shunter Driver training course is designed to equip your shunter drivers with the knowledge of how to safely manoeuvre vehicles whilst being fully aware of the hazards and dangers around them.
The training will include the following areas:
Learn essential skills and techniques to safely manoeuvre heavy goods vehicles on company premises and off-road parking areas.
This course teaches best practices yard shunter skills to safeguard site personnel and prevent damage to vehicles and property.
