What do you need to do?

Firstly…. You will need to apply for the correct provisional entitlements to be added to your current licence, therefore you will need to fill out a D2 form, which can be filled out by yourself and a D4 form, which must be completed by a doctor or medical centre

-We recomend D4Drivers.uk 0300-3030-668 – You can use our code ‘BART005’ for discount.

-We hold D2 Forms at our our training centre Eye, Suffolk. (our friendly team are always happy to offer advice and help)

Next…. Once the forms are completed, post both forms along with your current driving licence to the DVLA.

-Your licence should then be returned in approximately 1-3 weeks with the provisional entitlements added.

Then…. When you received your licence back you can then book your multiple choice theory test and hazard perception

In order to then earn money as a professional HGV/LGV driver you must obtain a Driver Qualification Card (DQC)

Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is taken in 2 parts:-

-(Module 2) Case Study Theory Test £23.00

-(Module 4) Practical Demonstration Test £55.00

Your DQC will be valid for 5 years and during that time to renew the card you need to complete 35 hours periodic training.

20 Hours- Training Inc Mod3a (Reverse Test) and Mod3b (Practical on-road test) £1835.00 including VAT

30 Hours- Training Inc Mod3a (Reverse Test) and Mod3b (Practical on-road test) £2675.00 including VAT

40 Hours Training Inc Mod3a (Reverse Test) and Mod3b (Practical on-road test) £3515.00 including VAT

Any Additional training £70.00+VAT per hour

Mod3a Reverse Test £40.00

Mod3b Practical on-road test fee £115.00

(as a guide- We Recommend 30 Hours if you are going from car straight to Class 1)
